About Simon[]
Drew's new boss, Simon Nichols, Richard's father, receives a call from Reverend Holliday, the church's pastor, asking him to head up fundraising for a new roof for his church. Drew contributes $100 and offers to begin attending services. He volunteers to sing at a church benefit.
Although Nichols and Holliday are both skeptical, Drew insists that he has musical talent. But, when Drew's performance (with an accordion and knee cymbals) bombs badly, it's discovered that Richard, who lambasted Drew's performance in the church newsletter the next day, is the editor of the newsletter, as he and his dad told Drew that his performance stunk, as Drew, who didn't want to be placed on Simon's "crap list", indeed gets placed on top of it!
